Dear Sisters and Brothers,
Thank you for showing your care for our short-term mission (STM) teams. We would love for you to visit our blog to view our prayer requests and to pray earnestly for us, holding us fast in the love of Jesus, as that is always needed.
This year, we will have two teams heading to the Southeast Asian countries of Thailand and Cambodia. It will be a three-week trip, with one week in Thailand and two weeks in Cambodia.
Five people, including PY, Ken Chen, Liu Lee, Rebecca Cheng, and Peipei Han, will leave first on November 2, 2025, for Chiang Rai, Thailand. They will serve the Aka people by providing health treatments, hosting a kids’ club, organizing co-worker retreat camps, serving at Sunday worship services, and gathering with a sister fellowship. This year, the Thailand team faces particularly complicated challenges. The wife of one of our dedicated and beloved team members recently became severely ill. We pray for her to recover soon and for God to restore her ability to walk. She joyfully and faithfully joined us at the late June joint worship for STM fundraising. Other team members are also facing various life challenges. We hope God will still use us, though we are small, and we need to solidify our plans further. Ministers in Thailand are also weary and burdened. Please pray for them to be healed and strengthened by God. On a positive note, our team members have been working together for several years and know each other well.
The Cambodia team will depart on November 8, 2025, to serve with Pleroma Ministries in Phnom Penh. This year, we are blessed to have four Cambodians from ECC Edmonds joining our team: Vanthy, Davy, Chanpella, and Vanny. We also have Stan, Rosana, and Jenny from RED-C and Bethel Fellowship on the team. The Thailand team will join the Cambodia team for the first week when all arrive in Cambodia. Together, we will serve approximately 300 primary school students at Pleroma School for Girls during a Gospel Week. During the second week, we will split into two teams to serve at the secondary school (180 students) and Pleroma Home for Girls (10+ girls recovering from domestic violence or sexual assault). During the weekend in between, we will participate in Pleroma Community Center’s outreach events to the local community. In all these events, we will share the Gospel using the Wordless Book, teach classes in English or Chinese with Gospel messages, and lead crafts and activities. Please pray for our team to collaborate effectively with local teachers and ministers to serve these approximately 500 students. Pray that language barriers will not hinder us, that English enables effective communication for both sides, and that the Gospel will be well received by the audience. We also ask that all craft and activity materials be shipped on time. We will share more updates before departure and after arrival. Thank you! God bless!
